Blog #5 This history of internet art

Its not that crazy to find out that net art came about by accident. Some of the greatest creations and phenomena of the world usually come about by accident and curiosity. The artists of the late 90s when the internet was coming about had an advantage in the industry for sure. Although coding with HTML was more common in that time era, there are tools now making it way easier to build websites and create web art without the knowledge of any coding. With that being said, I personally have dabbled a bit in code of HTML and Python. HTML is more for building websites but Python can be very valuable to the digital artist. There are so many things you can do with generative art that knowing this coding language can put you at even more of an advantage with this new medium. Coding to make net art along with adobe cloud programs such as After Effects have helped digital artists come a long way from the 90s and very static art to motion graphics that are becoming more and more coming and also opening up to VR. This creates immersive experiences in concerts, museums, theaters, projections on buildings, VJ's, and many other digital forms. On another note, the man posing as a woman on the chatroom from the article makes me think of cat-fishing, people pretending to be someone else on the internet to talk to people. This opened up a whole new topic on the internet and there is even a show on these types of people. This all resulted from a software glitch on an email.
